Squad Numbers Per Team/Season

  • I’m basically looking to see if anyone has implemented a fix to make squad numbers assigned per team/season?

    Basically this Ideaboard topic:

    We have a rec league with Co-ed, Women’s, Men’s.. and I want the player page to display the correct squad number since players (like myself) can join co-ed and men’s or co-ed and women’s in the same season and have different jersey numbers.

    The jersey numbers can also change year-to-year as our club makes new ones every season for the teams, and players/numbers can change season to season.

    We also use game sheets printed with this information for every game, so using player metrics (as was suggested by SportsPress) will also not work.

    Has anyone successfully modified this to support that functionality?
    Or at least give me a starting point so I can pinpoint the code areas to look at and make my own patch?
    Or maybe just get a bunch of you to up-vote the Ideaboard suggestion? ??

    Unfortunately, we don’t have this option at the moment. Maybe another user has an idea for this, but at the moment this requires more custom code than we can provide via support.

    I’m trying to work around it with metrics, but it’s really messy.. I know the initial Ideaboard topic was 3.5 years ago, so I was kind of hoping someone had made some progress in that time (perhaps by an extension or patch files that fix/change the way it is handled).

    I’ve been given the key used in the database by support via e-mail, and I can see it’s used in a few places, and without knowing the code of this software that well, it would likely take me hours to implement a fix.. I’ll start working on it some day haha

    I feel like one of the easier ways without having to change “too much” code and breaking current functionality, is to make a small modification to allow multiple jersey numbers to be assigned under “Squad Number” (comma separated?), then adding a box to select each jersey number from the “Statistics” section for the given season/team, beside the team selection drop-down.
