    Hi,

    I know this has asked before and is currently an open Feature Requests. https://woo.com/feature-request/square-sync-options/

    I’d like to only sync inventory counts from Square to WooCommerce and ignore Name, Description and Category so that what I have in WooCommerce does not get overwritten.

    I’m comfortable making changes to the php code and came across a post which said to comment out some lines in woocommerce-square/includes/Sync/Product_Import.php so the sync will ignore categories. I did make the edits but it still overwrote the categories.

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

    Your approach to only sync inventory counts from Square to WooCommerce is well-thought-out.

    However, helping out with custom coding of this nature is outside the scope of support that we can help out with here, although I would recommend the following:

    1. Running the exact question you’re asking, along with the code changes you made, through an AI platform like ChatGPT for recommendations/changes to your code;

    3. Waiting for the feature request to be implemented. This is because modifying the core plugin files can lead to unexpected issues and can be overwritten during updates.
