WooCommerce / Square Sync’s every product to the default category in WooCommerce. Every product in Square has a category (only one). When I first imported products about a month ago all worked fine it seemed. Now every product is in the default category no matter what category it is in in Square. The categories are all in WooComerce but they are ignored on import and sync.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @randem06,

Thank you for the additional details and your feedback. I wanted to let you know we’ve got a couple of other reports about this, so our developers are looking into it. I made a note with your case, too, so as soon as we have a fix, we’ll let you know so you can update and test again!

In the meantime, would you be able to roll back to version 4.6.2 or 4.6.1 and let us know if that works for you? You can use a plugin like WP Rollback for this.

    Thanks!

FYI I have started having the same problem with 4.6.3 with all items being moved to “Uncategorized” after I listed a new product in square and did a manual sync to woocommerce.

Rolling the Square Plugin back to 4.6.2 fixed the issue as well. This only appeared in the past 4-5 hours after I added that new item.

@omarfpg I can confirm rolling back to 4.6.2 and performing a new sync & update fixes the issue, for the short-term at least.

I think I figured out what the bug is caused by:

When rolling forward, it puts everything under “Categories”
When rolling backward, it uses “Product Categories”

Two different columns. two sets of data.

    4.6.2 CONFIRMED!

As I understand, you’re confirming it works for you on 4.6.2, is this correct? Or do you mean something else?

Kindly note, as mentioned above, that our developers are already aware of this bug and working on a fix for an upcoming release. You can follow the report here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-square/issues/156 to keep in the loop for any updates.

    Cheers!

I am confirming that rolling back to version 4.6.2 works correctly.

I was having the issue with 4.7.0, rolling back to 4.6.2 restored the categories for me as well.

Just updating this to saw that I am having the exact same issue, it wrecked my site as everything was linked via Categories and suddenly everything was Uncategorised.

We have rolled back to 4.6.2 and it seems to be working now.

Hoping a fix is implemented ASAP.
