Squarespace to WordPress Migration: Blog + Comments + Images

  • Hey there. I am trying to migrate my website from Squarespace over to WordPress. I am having trouble with the way that Squarespace has exported their .xml files, as it is causing my blog posts to break. The images have been imported, yet they are not appearing without a manual adjustment. There are over 400 blog posts I am trying to import. I also want to ensure the importing of my comments from squarespace to wordpress.
    All in all, I am needing:?1 – Squarespace Blog posts to WordPress Blog?2 –?Squarespace Blog comments to WordPress?3 –?Squarespace Blog media to WordPress Media (I used Auto Image Uploader App)

  • sounds like you have already import Squarespace posts and images into WordPress but with errors. Could you describe the issues in details? What is causing your blog posts to break? What is the “manual adjustment” need to make to the images?

    I am having the same issue. When I import from Squarespace, all the images are broken because they are referencing the domain of the Squarespace site. If I change the url of the image to the WordPress domain, I can see the image when I open it in the browser. However, changing the HTML of the WordPress post to the WordPress domain doesn’t display the image. I also have more than 600 blog posts which I am importing and it will take forever to manually remove each image and upload it into the WordPress media library. I have tried to use the Auto Upload Images plugins and several others but they have done nothing to fix the broken images when I do the bulk edit as the videos show me to do to activate the plugin. Please help as there has to be other users who have tried to import their Squarespace site into WordPress. Thank you!
