SS downloads

I am trying to get this plugin to work in collaboration with ss downloads. https://www.strangerstudios.com/wordpress-plugins/ss-downloads/

I have the following command line in addemail.php

$mail = new PHPMailer(); // defaults to using php “mail()”

Any suggestion on how to modify this line to get it working with wp mail smtp
