• After a lot of sturggle,i finally managed to fix a lot of ssl errors. In fact for my desktop version the ssl works awesomely. With the green padlock displaying in every page.
It also works pretty well in a lot of gadgets for the mobile version of the site. However the problem comes with android users who get the message that the ssl certificate is not trusted.
Now,I know the reason for this is because of using an outdated version of android. However,i cannot ensure all my users use the current version of android.
Bringing me to the question…what is the loop around this?..is there any way around it even for those using outdated version of android?

    G’day Henry,

Old phones with old versions of Android that get SSL certificate errors on up-to-date websites need to do one of two things:

    • update to a newer version of Android
    • get the hell off the Internet before they become part of the Android Apocalypse

Upgrading old Android phones is often a problem because phone manufacturers see profits in selling new handsets. However, I have two old Samsung phones for which Samsung won’t issue updates, and I upgraded both to nice, modern versions of Android through Cyanogenmod. My old Galaxy S (latest official release 2.3.6) is running 4.4.4 “Kitkat”, and my old Galaxy S II (latest official release 4.1 or something) is running 5.1.1 “Lollipop”.

    cheers,
    Ross

    G’day Henry,

One other possibility is certificate chain errors. See here for information:
