SSL Certificate Error. Only happens occasionally.
-
I have a membership site at rwpconversion.com. It’s a fairly straightforward install.
We’re having users occasionally get a SSL certification error in their browser. They’re told the certificate for the site is invalid and there might be security risks by visiting the site.
I cannot seem to find a cause for this. And unfortunately I can’t seem to find a way to trigger the error either. It only happens sporadically. It’s been a consistent issue for a while now, just this nagging problem that I can’t seem to pin down.
I’ve even installed the “force non-ssl” plugin, but I just got a few more complaints from users yesterday, leading me to believe this is clearly still an issue.
Unfortunately I’m not sure what other details to add. I’m only running Wishlist Member and a few other plugins…all of which I use on numerous other sites with no issue. For some reason, this site keeps trying to bounce people over to a https page. We’ve never needed a SSL cert for one of these sites before. It’s just a basic membership site with tutorial videos. We don’t even have a shopping cart on this site, so I have no idea why this is even happening.
This seems to happen for regular visitors just visiting the site. It happens when trying to log in. It happens yet again after you’re logged in. But it only happens occasionally. Most people don’t have this issue. But some people seem to get the error repeatedly.
How do I get WordPress to stop randomly delivering this error to visitors?
Any insight is much appreciated!
