• I used Let’s Encrypt to install a certificate. When I typed in gwbs.biz. I get this error message.

https://www.gwbs.biz uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for gwbs.biz Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

How do I fix this issue?

  • I don’t think it’s a WordPress specific issue. The issue may be better suited for the Let’s Encrypt knowledge base/community support options.

The problem is the URL that you’re uisng.

It’s not commonly understood by people that don’t do this often, but gwbs.biz and www.gwbs.biz are considered to be two separate URL’s, and are not coverd under a single SSL certificate.

Just to point it out, that’s not a WordPress issue, it’s a SSL issue.

    There’s two choices for you:

First, you can change your sites URL to remove the www. (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL).

Second, you can re-generate the SSL certificate for the full www.gwbs.biz URL.

I changed the URL from https://www.gwbs.biz to gwbs.biz and now I see the green lock on the address bar. Thanks, the solution works!
