SSL Communication Error Locally
-
Hi, I’m currently developing a new website for a small independent camera shop, the old site lacks the ability to order or purchase products so I’m adding that to the new site.
I’m creating the site locally using Mamp, and I’m using woocommerce for the shop and have been working on the site for the last 2 months now with no issues whatsoever. I’m coming close to finishing the site when all of a sudden I start getting SSL connection error on Chrome.
So after a lot of research and testing here’s where I’m up to,
Anything to do with woocommerce on the site is forcing HTTPS, e.g, products, checkout etc. wont load and come up with an SSL connection error.
Everything else on the site will load but will not load the CSS so I’m left with just pure HTML content.
I also cannot access my wp-admin panal. If I disable Woocommerce plugin manually everything works perfectly again, except the fact that I no longer have a shop on the site anymore..
I plan on purchasing a Certificate once I’m ready to go live and upload the site to a real host, but for now while I’m still developing the site locally do I need to purchase an SSL certificate?
I’m just a bit confused why this only started happening now after working perfectly fine for the last 2 months. I can’t seem to find a fix anywhere online or on any other forum.
If anyone can help me fix this soon I will be really grateful, need to finish this site soon.
Thank in advance,
Peter.
