SSL issue

When I change my site settings in WP from HTTP to HTTPS I seem to lose all my theme. It’s just a plain White background and all text is left paginated. My domain name is with one company who I bought a shared SSL with. My website is hosted elsewhere. I also have some code to paste into my .htaccess file to redirect any traffic going to HTTP to HTTPS. Could it be an issue with my theme?
