I have WordPress 2.7.1 configured in my Windows XP, using Apache 2.2.8 and PHP 4.2.8. OpenSSL is enabled in the php.ini, and access to my blogger account is established. I am trying to download my blogs from blogger and I get this error message: Unable to find the socket transport “ssl” – did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP? (0). I see previous posts regarding this problem, but no solution.

    Any help is appreciated.

I resolved this issue, and for those who have a similar problem in Windows OS, (and the php dll’s are properly un-commented in php.ini), one must add the PHP folder to the path and reboot. This may be C:\PHP or C:\Program Files\PHP.
