SSL read: error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0), errno 104

  • HI,

    Suddenly and without warning I am no longer able to update wordpress core, plugins or themes for any of the 20+ sites that I manage.

    When I try to update the theme by selecting UPDATE from the dashboard I get this message: “SSL read: error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0), errno 104”

    for the theme update attempt it usually just times out like its sitting waiting.

    I haven’t tried manually updating anything yet as I have way too much to do manually. I also haven’t been able to find anything on the web that truly helps me understand what is going on.

    I have contacted my host who say nothing has changed at their end.

    Any suggestions, thoughts or ideas would be most welcome.
