  • @remymedranda: I won’t recommend WP Stage Coach. Sooner or later, you’ll realize the problems it creates, and can’t solve, even though it has the one click staging-to-live functionality.

Plus, the support from them was almost non-existent. Did not get a response for more than 10 days, and the problem (on a client’s site which I put on WP Stage Coach) was not resolved at all for like 15 days. Finally, I asked for a refund.

I get FAR better support from Rene, via e-mail, than these guys’ pathetic but $40 support! Even though I don’t pay anything to Rene.

Any updates on the “push to live” function Rene ?

    hi there,

This is a good plugin I like how easily it created a clone for me to test updates etc, even lets me destroy the clone (should I destroy the cloned site) and start it again.

As with others though the staging to live feature is needed urgently to be honest. The only other thing I have came across that does all this is something like wp stage coach. But not all of us can justify the money they require, especially when working with multiple sites.

All I would say is if you can get this staging to live feature released soon please do ! I may not be able to use your plugin until this is done but I will keep it installed until then, it is very handy even just to test something that will potentially break a live site

    Hey guys,

i feel soory to say but for the moment a push to live function is completely on hold. Developing such a function is one thing but risks are too high that incompatibilities leads to problems on your live site after using that new function. I could not handle the additional support load so i have to make this sad decision.

Wow, definitely a misnamed plugin. I suggest you change the name – until you have push-to-live – to “temporary testing cloner” or something. Staging implies preparation for going live. Relying on us to notice one sentence in the whole presentation is not wise. I appreciate your efforts to make something, but I have no use for a cul-de-sac of changes. Maybe consider some sort of log that can be used to repeat the steps on the main site.

Thanks for the amazing plugin. Its unfortunate to see the amount of complaining about supposed “missing functionality.” This plugin does exactly what I would expect, and does it well. To those complaining that, why do would you think that “staging” implies an automatic “push-to-live” feature? Because WP-Engine, and other paid services are able to do that in their tightly controlled hosting environment? It shows that so many of you don’t have any clue about the complexities of varied hosting environments and what needs to happen behind the scenes for this to work universally (which is nothing to be ashamed of in itself, but when combined with an outsized sense of entitlement becomes a problem.)

And sadly, now the developer has decided not to even bother with working on that feature, due to the “additional support load” it would require. So the ungrateful users making demands won’t even get that feature, which they may have gotten eventually if they had the maturity to show any sort of gratitude to a developer who is freely giving his time and energy without any compensation whatsoever.
