    hi

i’m using the plugin and really happy with it so far

just want to check i understand how it works correctly so that i can correctly interpret my facebook ad tracking

i’ve set up the fb pixel using your plugin (and it’s marked as active on fb) and also a “lead” standard event through the events tab of your plugin…along with a corresponding “lead” website (i.e. a page that appears upon a form submission).

when i set up a conversion objective campaign/ad, i’ve selected “lead” in facebook..but my question is how does facebook know what the conversion page is?

if i were to set up 2 lead standard events in the plugin, fb doesn’t give me the ability to distinguish between the 2 leads…so would fb treat both leads set up in the plugin as triggering a “conversion register”?

    hopefully my query makes sense

    thanks in advance!

    Hi,

When you optimize the ads for an event you can not tell Facebook the exact event you are interested in. So, in your case the ads will be optimize for all Lead events you have on the site.

But you can do this by using Custom Conversion. There are a few ways to make it happen:

    1. Define the Custom Conversion by using the page URL (the page that you used for the Lead event). In this case the event will not be used anymore.

    2. Define the Custom Conversion using Custom Combination and the Lead Event – add a custom_name to the lead event and select it for the Custom Conversion

The second method is particularly useful for for Dynamic Events, that are not URL dependent.

Remember to add the Custom Conversion to the custom reports that you are using, so you can track it correctly.
