Star Ratings no longer working – black

    Hi there,

    I have used the star ratings throughout my site but now they remain black and do not turn gold. I have included an example URL where this has occurred although it is a site-wide issue.

    It is a resource loading issue – I am using Elementor/Elementor Pro as well as WP Rocket.

    This is coming up in the console:

    DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for https://pawsomedogstuff.com/wp-content/plugins/stars-rating/public/js/jquery.barrating.min.js.map: Unexpected token ‘<‘, “<!DOCTYPE “… is not valid JSON

    Any help at all would be appreciated.

    Hi!

    I have checked your website and you are using the combined JS and CSS feature that’s creating the conflict between the files. Please add the https://pawsomedogstuff.com/wp-content/plugins/stars-rating/public/ path to exclude it from combining files as this plugin has very light-weight files to work properly.

    Hi Fahid,

    Thank you for looking into this for me and your advice.

    I use WPRocket and SiteGround optimiser – I have actually turned off the Combine CSS files feature in both (as they would not allow me to exclude this specific path) – but still no success with Star Ratings.

    Sorry for any technical incompetence – but do I need to do anything else to get the Stars Rating Feature working?

    Hi Colin,

    After deactivating the files combining feature, ensure to clear the all cache once. I hope that will do the job. If it still doesn’t work then create a temporary user login and email me at fahidjavid[at]gmail[dot]com

    I will look inside and debug the issue.
