Is there any way to kick off a backup without it being a cron job?

I need to backup my WP db right now before I attempt to mess with it, but I can’t find any easy way to run this tool aside from waiting until the next available scheduled cron job, which using “daily” “6pm” (which would be in about half an hour) is only setting it for tomorrow at 6pm… I can’t wait 24 hours for it to start, I need to do it ASAP. Is this just not supported? Seems pretty straightforward to add a button that starts the backup rather than the cron job being the only way to start, no? I’m not really a LA/MP developer so I wouldn’t know if that causes issues but it was the only reason I wanted to use this plugin, to make periodic backups on demand.

If not, perhaps rename the plugin “WP DB Backup to Dropbox Scheduler” or something because the title makes it sound like you can at will make a “WordPress Backup to Dropbox” but it seems you can’t unless you wait a day…?

    Maybe I missed something.

    Thanks

  • “backup monitor” … there you can start.

Yeah it doesn’t have an option to schedule one to start right away, that’s the point. I needed to start it right away, not schedule it for 24 hours in advance. I found another plugin that exports the DB with a click, so nevermind. Thanks anyway.
