  • You start the FUS using a tag application

@jchimene Can you please elaborate a little more? I’ve tried that a few different ways including using action sets. Maybe I’m missing some small detail.

    1. Create an action set
    2. Click Start Sequences & select the sequence to start
    3. Click Only run this action when certain rules are met
    4. Click Add. This will open a new window
    5. Name the rule set
    6. In the Select Contact Field, select Contact – general information. In the dropdown to the right, select Tags
    7. Select the appropriate tag

Edit: Not to be rude, but why are you still using legacy follow-up sequences?

@jchimene Thank you. That is exactly what I had done. Unfortunately, it did not work. I have a request out to the infusionsoft developers.

I still use legacy because campaign builder does not have the ability to appropriately measure marketing piece effectiveness for directmail and other forms of offline marketing. They are supposed to be adding it.

A few points, probably you’ve covered these but check the contact before and after filling out the form in WordPress for:

    1. tag not applied before starting the WordPress form
    2. tag applied after completing the WordPress form

Here is the response I got back from infusionsoft when I submitted a support ticket.

“…The way that Action Sets are designed is that they are basically a list of actions, that you have to essentially “tell to begin”. They do not begin when a tag is applied. An action set can begin when a web form through Infusionsoft is filled out. Since you are currently using a Gravity Form, what you could possibly do is use the API to have the Follow Up Sequence begin.”

Can you tell me more about how this plugin uses the API, so I can talk more intelligently to infusionsoft?

Any other ideas for ways to fix this problem?

    Try the following:

    1. Create an action set that runs the FUS
    2. Create a campaign
    3. Create a “Tag Applied” goal
    4. Attach a campaign sequence to the Tag Applied goal
    5. Open the sequence and add an “Apply Action Set” process
    6. Configure the process to run the action set created in step 1
    7. Set the sequence ready
    8. Publish the campaign

Apply the tag via Gravity Forms

So far so good. Thank You!!!
