Starting fresh

    I am new to using WordPress. Can I delete all of my plug-ins, themes and the rest then do the reset? I use the plugin for data tables and it says they are clean, but I am finding there is lingering stuff in the files when looking at them using my cPanel. I thought about deleting the old css files instead but I am afraid that could cause issues. I am not a business or selling anything. I do not have the same concerns as most do over loss of work done on the site.

    If I am understanding the description correctly, this will clean the whole install up to the beginning, a fresh start, yes?

    Hi,
    The basic reset does not touch any files. If you want to delete files you have to use the additional tools (tools tab in WPR); for example to remove all plugins.

    I did the clean reset that seemed to of got rid of stuff I wanted gone. I went ahead and left it so the media files were cleaned out and all of the revisions of too-many themes while learning. I am sure I am using the wrong terms for all of that.

    I skipped all of the uninstalling I mentioned and let the plugin do the job. I got a “new” WP site” notice in my email. It is that clean. Perfect. I have signed in and out with no issues.

    The plugin is perfect for someone like me who is learning, that is for sure. Thank you! Should I deactivate until needed again? Or leaving it as-is not a problem?

    Glad to hear everything worked out! ??

    In general, our practice is to deactivate all plugins that are not used at the moment. It’s more of a habit than a necessity but we still recommend it.
