Starting Over…

  • Well, after not being able to get my home page or other pages to work properly and getting a ton of errors, I’ve decided I need to start over (I almost gave up on WordPress, but I was just too happy with the site).

    Out of frustration I wiped out my whole directory on my site and am going to re-install in the root directory and not a directory of its own (previously wouldn’t work for me).

    I do have a backup where I simply copied all the files and directories on my local drive. What I would like to know is if I choose the same theme and plugins, what files can I upload to get my modified look, pages and posts back? Do I actually need to reinstall the plugins or can I just copy them to a folder?

    Could someone who knows how to do this possibly guide me through these dark times? Be a mentor?

    I know I can post on the forum, but man, I feel like a wiener!

    Hey esmi,

    Well, I decided to bite the bullet and after about 6 hours of fighting I am almost back to normal.

    I wish I was smarter so I didn’t have to work so hard everytime I touch something!

    I better back this site up now before I lose it!
