    Hi there.

I have just finished moving as client’s site over to a new server which included a slight change to the URL. Everything has been running ok and his stats and subscribers moved over with his account.

But I have just deactivated the Jetpack plugin and reactivated it, logged into his account again with jetpack and all of his stats and subscribers have gone. I read on this forum that sometimes with a URL change, the blog id number can change. Would you be able to switch it back?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

We’ve rolled back to a backup version of the site from the day before the issues. Although the issue that we have now is that we need to migrate the users and subscribers from the old domain to the new one. Can you help with this?

    Hi @ericburnard

What was the URL of the original site? There are a few somewhat similar domains under the account.

If you want things to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form. If you choose to reach out directly, please include a link to this thread.

    Thanks!

    Hi there Bruce.

Thank you for getting back to me and I hope that you had a great Christmas break.

The original site with the stats and the subscribers was https://www.THEmorningcoffeerun.com and the new domain is simply https://www.morningcoffeerun.com.

    Thanks again

    Hi @ericburnard

I’ve kicked off the job for migrating the stats and subscribers over to the new site. As there are a fair amount of subscribers involved, it may take hour or two to complete.

Thank you so much for your help. I’ll keep an eye on it and let you know tomorrow if it has all moved over nicely ??

I forgot to ask, will I need to change anything on the backend of WordPress or with Jetpack or will everything work properly once they’ve been migrated over?

    Hi Bruce,

I have checked today by selecting “View my email followers” and it is still directing me to switch over to the domain THEmorningcoffeerun.com to view them

You should be able to see the followers here:

    https://wordpress.com/people/team/morningcoffeerun.com

The only thing you will need to do is deactivate the “coming soon” mode and reactivate Jetpack and it should all work at the new URL.

    Afternoon Bob,

That seems to be working perfectly after deactivating and logging in again.

Thank you for your help with all of this. Just one thing I’d like to check before signing off.

If i look at the followers through the above link then it says there are 98, yet on the front end it’ll say there are 4,000+, Which number is correct and if its the 4,00 then where are they located?

    Hi again @ericburnard

The larger number also reflects the number of followers you have on your social media media accounts which are connected through publicize. Since those followers automatically have the site’s post appear in their timeline they are considered followers.

The number in the link Bob provided are the WordPress.com and email-only followers.

    I hope that helps!
