Static content in WP1.6 nightlies?

Howdy, I’m trying to use a plugin for WP1.5 that integrates phpfm into WordPress, but it doesn’t work fully on WP1.6 nightlies because 1.6 redirects EVERYTHING to index.php by default, meaning that icons, css, etc. aren’t being displayed. I’m at my wits’ end here – anyone know any mod_rewrite magic that I could employ to cause 1.6 to pass off processing to the fm scripts themselves (and associated icons, css, etc.)?
