• Hi

I’m sorry if this has already been posted.

I recently updated WP and did some maintenance to the site while activating the WP-Maintenance plug-in. When deactivating the plug-in and making the site public again, I noticed that the front page was now showing the latest posts, rather than the custom front page I’ve customized in Responsive (Child Theme) theme that I’m using.

The Responsive Theme supports a static front page and in the theme options, I’ve activated the “enable custom front page”.

I’m not sure what happened or if this has something to do with the maintenance I performed or the WP-Maintenance plug-in I activated but I can’t fix this.

    Thanks for the help!

do you think your any of your settings might have been changed inadvertently?
do you have a backup of your database and files?

    Thanks for the replies.

The settings – reading is set for “your latest posts”, which is how it’s always been. In the theme options, I’ve seleced “enable custom front page (overrides the WP front page option)”. These settings are as they’ve always been and I’ve double checked with the duplicate site that I have on a local server.

I have not performed any changes that might have caused this so I’m faering that the WP-Maintenance plug-in might have messed it up. I’ve deleted it but the problem is still there.

It may seem like the index.php is overriding the front-page.php for some reason…
