Static front page latest posts

So I am rather new to WordPress but I have figured out most things along the way but have not been able to figure out what would seeming be something simple. I know I am doing something dumb and overlooking it but simply can’t figure it out.
So my site is set up at the moment with a dynamic front page that lists current posts fully with all the media. I like how it looks but I want to create a static page that uses the same format and posts the whole current post but I would like it to simply show the top 3-5 in a widget area at the top with different content below it. I can set up the page exactly as I want but for the life of me I cannot find a widget that will simply show the full post. Every widget I try shows a clickable summary without associated media.
What widget will simply display recent full post content like the dynamic front page does but instead in a static front page inside a widget area?
