static front page porblems

    I am using Simpleo theme. It has a custom front page which I have used in my set up, but when customising the theme this is not available in the front page displays section for static page. if I leave this as displays blog posts, I get the front page that I want but my blog page cannot be selected to display my posts.
    I have examined the files for this and I cannot find the custom template for the front page or I would be able to apply this in the page attributes.
    This is complicated to explain –
    In settings, if I choose show recent posts I get my static home page showing.
    In settings, if I select static home page there is no home page option available on the drop down list and I cannot get the formatting that I want from any of the other pages. If I choose my blog for the posts page then the blog and home page show the same content.

    I have contacted the theme designer (I am using the free theme currently, but if I can get this sorted then I will likely upgrade to the pro version). I am just looking for some ideas on what may be the issue and how I can resolve this if I can.

    How to customize your theme!
    Make sure to click on the one that say’s “How to customize my theme. I bet they have a workable solution in there for you!

    Thank you Greg. The Theme customization section doesn’t change my blog issue…
    I have read a few other threads where there seems to be a similar issue with other themes from the same author. I really hope that he gets back to me with a fix or someone else can offer assistance – the demo has a blog and theme-specific front page, so it can be done.
