    I like this theme, but I don’t understand this theme.
    – Why isn’t there a proper, full, static Front Page rendered?
    – Why don’t subpages render in the main menu?

    Maybe my purpose is not suitable?
    Maybe I don’t know what I am doing?

    toni-esl.com/quiz It is a subsite on a MultiSite.

    I have read other threads similar to my issue already.
    1). Yes, I had created a Front Page

    2). This is not a solution…
    from a link on a thread to different thread:

    “In the Editor, go to content.php. Find the code that reads:

    the_excerpt();

    Change that to the_content();”

    –This disables excerpts everywhere. I do not want full posts on my Blog page.

    I need a static Front Page with content. Any input is appreciated.
    Thank you

  • Hi -@Toni

    I think you are aware of the theme you are using is child theme of twenty fifteen.
    Now as far as i have seen your site the blog page is not showing full post as you wanted.
    Can you please tell me your problem in more detail.

    Thank You!!

    Hi,
    That is not the Blog page, that’s the home page. (It’s a MultiSite subsite). I would like a static front page. Not an excerpt of/from the front page. I would like a place for content that does not have a “continue reading” link (to “Front Page”), which means it links to itself.
    – I have a static front page.
    – I do not want that “continue reading” link at all on the home/front page.
    – I would like the entire front page contents to be displayed. Not an excerpt.

    The blog is elsewhere. https://toni-esl.com/quiz/blog/. The blog is fine.

    The Front Page is a sticky blog post right now. https://toni-esl.com/quiz/blog/. It links to the full content front page. This is weird…the front page is a blog post, and when I open it I get logged out.

    From the admin side, in edit page, the front page URL is correct:
    https://toni-esl.com/quiz/ (That is the URL for the MultiSite subsite). That is indeed the home page, but only on the admin side.

    In other themes it comes up as the Front/Home page, and renders complete. As a page.

    Hi @toni

    You can create a page template and put down your query you want for the blog post and assign that page as static front page.
    You have to get the content by using the_content();

    Thank You!

    Hello,
    Hope you are well.

    Find your post template, mine was content.php and edit lines

    the_excerpt

    to

    the_content

    There might be more than one, so keep going til you get it. Pay attention to what template you are in though so you don’t mess anything up.

    Thanks.

    @tech55541 Hi, I am well! I hope you are as well.
    I had tried your suggestion before I posted this thread. It worked for the front page, but on the blog page too which I did not want. All of my posts were full posts on the blog page – not excerpts as I wanted.
    Thank you for responding!

    @sanjog Hi, I am so sorry…I don’t know how to do any part of your suggestion. But I will copy and keep it. I hope to gain skills to that level, and I may need the solution some other time.
    Thank you for responding!

    Thanks to everyone here for your time and suggestions.

    I am changing themes for now. I need my MultiSite sites for the ESL class I teach tomorrow(!!). Got to just find a theme or keep what I had, and get to work preparing online stuff for class.

    Again, thanks all!
