• Hi,

I’m trying to build, only, my second website so I am not a real developer by any means, but I do like and want to learn new techniques. The first website was with Weaver Pro theme, and this one will be with Weaver Xtreme Plus.
My first website uses Metaslider Pro. This new website only has the free version, currently.

I would like to do something like the link below (different theme)

    https://www.elegantthemes.com/demo/?theme=Feather

Specifically, the gallery part where it says Our Mission Statement/Meet the Team/Page Titles Go Here/Satisfaction Guaranteed. I don’t need the “+” in the image.

I want to control the size of the images, the spacing between them and the text font/size/styling below the image, and it needs to be responsive, of course

I want to have 3 or 4 images with customized text underneath (not like a simple caption box from the WordPress Media Library). Clicking the image and/or the page title in the text below will open up the page.

Can I easily do this with Metaslider?
I guess I am basically trying to make a static/non-sliding gallery, with the ability to control the spacing and size between the images and format the text.

I think I know enough about CSS and HTML to format the text under the images. As far as I know, this can be done through the slider admin directly inputting the HTML/CSS in the “General” tab for each image.

Is there any easier way to do this besides Metaslider? Jetpack also has a gallery option. I’d prefer to avoid another plugin, unless absolutely necessary.
Personally, I’ve found the Weaver Show Posts/Sliders modules, setup and language convoluted in the Weaver theme.
And, I do like Metaslider’s admin a lot, so hopefully I can use this plugin for a gallery design like this.

    Thanks
    Andrew

  • Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your interest in Meta Slider.

I’m afraid to say though that if you’re looking to build a static/non-sliding gallery then Meta Slider really isn’t the plugin for you.

There are many content-building type plugins but recommending one would be difficult as it would depend on many factors.

I would suggest picking the simplest gallery type plugin you can find and building styling the layout with CSS.

    Many thanks,
    Dave

Thanks, I thought that there might not be a way to do this with Metaslider.
It’s still a great plugin and plan to use it for my sliding galleries.

    Thanks
    Andrew

Maybe you can add a static gallery template in a future upgrade ??
