Static home page won't load

    I get an error message:-

    Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

    The other pages are OK just the home page.
    The problem started when I upgraded to 4.5.1

    I have tried deactivating plug ins and changing theme to twenty sixteen.
    I have also had GoDaddy check everything but they had no luck.

  • It sounds like you may have a redirect loop setup on your server. Do you know if you have any redirects in place?

    Hi,

    This is caused by your site address not being lowercase, if you go into your wp-admin dashboard, go to Settings > General and make sure everything in the two URL fields are all lower case and you should be good.

    I’m having the same issue — both urls are lowercase.
    Issue remains ??

    That worked – almost!
    I changed it to lower case and all is working fine again.
    Except … the sidebar is not showing up.

    OK not sure what happened but I have put the sidebar back and seems fine.
