Love the theme, but I don’t get how I can add the second front page when the site is set to static homepage. That is, the “Meet the team” section shown on https://www.ads-software.com/themes/twentytwelve/

Will I just create another page and also use “Front Page” as the template?

Tried several options but to no avail. Only thing I’m seeing from the second front page is the widgets selected.

Thanks in advance for your help with this!

  • I can’t find a “Meet the Team” section on the site? I am therefore unsure what you mean. But there can be only one home page of a website.

    Hey threadi,

    Thanks for your response.

The screenshot on https://www.ads-software.com/themes/twentytwelve/ shows a static homepage that is split into two sections:

1st section/page: “Welcome to our website”

    2nd section/page: “Meet the team”

The theme also offers two separate widget sections for said pages, called “First Front Page Widget Area” and “Second …”.

For the screenshot shown in the link mentioned, only the second widget area is being used, while the upper page just shows the featured image.

I figured out how to set up the first page, but have no idea how to enable the second one.

Thanks for looking into this. Much appreciated.

Ah, now I see what you mean.

You need to set a static page under Settings > Reading. You have to assign the template “Front Page Template” to this page. Then the two widget areas on this page will be displayed according to the content of the page.

    Regarding the screenshot:
    https://i0.wp.com/themes.svn.www.ads-software.com/twentytwelve/3.9/screenshot.png?w=572&strip=all
you have to enter the content on top and the two areas below will show the content of the two widget areas.

Aaaah, I see. Thought that was a separate page.

    Now it makes sense.

Thanks so much for your help, threadi. Much appreciated.

    Have a great week!
