I know how to make the front page static but can I make more pages static? As it looks to me, only the front one can look like a plain site?
    Thanks for any help.

  • You just make more pages…. pages -> add new

Any wp Page is static in the sense that the copy on it usually stays the same and is not created dynamically like the posts page.

You can create new pages, add html or whatever and navigate to them thru a menu on your static front page.

So do I have to have any page that has the posts on it?

    no

comments can be switched off for individual pages for instance under
dashboard – pages – all pagesquick-edit below the page title in the list – untick ‘allow comments’

Did that, thank you. I still have half that still have recent posts on the page. I double checked that I unchecked. Ugh, this is so frustrating.
    Thanks for helping.

    what theme are you using?
might be a page template with this function; or a widget in the sidebar (?)
