Please tell me if i should post somewhere else.

I have a few things I am trying to achieve after much googling and trying still cant find the right answers so here we go. I am using the affinity theme.

    1. I would like to create another page that has a static layout that doesn’t act as a homepage or frontpage but has exactly the same layout i.e panels and has different content. Is there somewhere i can copy the template for this but change it for the relevant page without it becoming the frontpage?

    2. I would like to change the size and maybe the font of the site title how can i do this.

    3. last but not least i would like to A) move my logo to the left hand side of the site title or B) move the site title below the Logo which is currently centre but above the tag line and change its colour.

I am really struggling with this so if anyone can help me id be very grateful although i am quite good with computers i am a novice with coding etc

    thanks

    dan

    Hi Danmhof,

Sorry for the late reply to your question. You are describing certain layout issues but unfortunately without seeing the actual site it is impossible to see what you mean.

It might help you to look for a theme that offers your solution out of the box instead of explaining the more complex way using Custom Post Types and custom styling. As you mentioned you are a novice with coding, so therefore best to use the ready made option.

I have used a theme in the past that allows you allocate page-lay-outs to certain pages or categories. Also, some themes offer a different arrangement for the header bar with logo placement, menu style and more.

The premium themes would cost a little but do offer support to answer your specific design questions.

Apologies for not helping you with this but at least you know there is a way and you are not the first one achieve this.

    Hi Just2ronald

Thank you for replying to my issues much appreciated and sorry I’ve been doing other things and therefore have only just receive your reply.

I have been through several themes and cant really find exactly what I am After which is why I was looking to use CSS code to assist plus there are so many themes out there and i would like to design the website before purchasing a theme which doesn’t seem possible to do.

I have half managed what I wanted to achieve with logo and site title in that I imported the Logo into photo editing software and added the Site title text as id like it so the whole thing is merged as one image.

This looks Great on the homepage and I love the home page layout with the panels in the affinity theme.

I now however still have two issues that would be great to resolve A) by coding or b) using another theme

Issue 1. with the affinity theme the logo only appears on the front-page I’m however looking to have the logo on every page and ideally in top left corner of the screen, whilst keeping its original position on the front page.

Issue 2. As mentioned above I’d like to have another page design like the front page with the panels, however with different content.

I am currently trying to redesign my website using wordpress to make it more slim lined and professional looking and also hoping that seo optimisation may be easier through wordpress.

However I originally designed my website using serif x6 which to be honest I’m finding much easier to use as its WYSIWYG software. The SEO we put in however doesnt seem to be working. i find this software much more versatile and easier to custom design. word press themes I’m finding your restricted to what can be done that should be simple unless you know code.
