    Hi hi,

I have serious problem that I need help with. The front page of my web site is now showing the blog posts but is supposed to be static page.

This happened after I added the SEO Ultimate plugin. I have uninstalled the plugin but its still overwriting my settings and showing blog posts as the front page.

All help is very much appreciated

    Hi Jussman:

I can honestly say I have never seen a support ticket about that happening in 8 years, but….

You’re saying that Settings > Reading > and then choose static Page does not work?

As a result of adding SEO Ultimate?

    Hi hi Jeffrey,

Thank you so much for replying and yes, after I’ve added the SEO ultimate plugin I can’t have a static page as a front page, instead my blog posts come up. In general settings my front page is set as static (the page is called homepage) and my blog posts are set to a page called blog. I’ve uninstalled the plugin and changed the theme but my blog posts still always come up on the front page.

Do you have any idea of what the problem might be?

    All the best

Have you tried deactivating all your plugins?

Just asking since they sounds like the strangest collision I’ve ever encountered as there is no part of our plugin that has any impact on page level settings such as that.

Other option is to try and reinstall the latest version of WP again.

    Hi Jeffrey,

Deactivating the plugins did the trick!

Should have thought of it my self…

    Thank you for your support

I figured out why this happens.

In the Permalink Tweaker to take away a product category from the URL. If you tick the box to take it away somehow this happens

    Hey Thanks Jussmann

We’ll look into this and see if we can recreate on our side.

Glad you’re finally able to change your page.

    Hi again Jeffrey,

The plot thickens. After I managed to get my static page back up again the root to my products has changed, I get a 404 and when I changed the root to the products the static front page goes back to show my blog posts.

    Does that make any sense?

Its just a simple Woocommerce web site

Check for other plugins that have rewrite capabilities and also check your Woo Commerce settings as well.

Since products is a Woo (custom post type) Category (you may not be able to use it as a static page).

    Hi hi,

I could fix it by making a new page as the static page. So its all good now.

    So confusing problem.

Thank you for your time and help
