• Back in May I created a site (and single post) and have basically neglected in since then.

Today I wanted to do some work to it but I wanted to keep the original post on the home page by making it a static page.

On my other blogs I can select whether I want a static home page or my latest posts by clicking on Settings and then the “Reading” link.

However, when I do that on this blog it is not there!

    On this blog I see:
    Reading Settings
Blog pages show at most 10 postsSyndication feeds show the most recent 10 posts
For each article in a feed, show Full text/Summary
Encoding for pages and feeds UTF-8

Does anyone know how I can fix/find this option?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • What version are you using? I came aboard with WordPress version 2.6.2 and that setting exists under Settings | Reading. You can select either a “front page” or a “posts page.”

In my case, that isn’t what I wanted, so in Microsoft IIS I created a default home page that brings up a category instead.

    Hi Paul,

I’m using 2.5.1 on that site.
