    hello WordPress community!

    I’m trying to create a static home page for my website but I am having a little bit of trouble. Basically the only things I want the same between my static front page and the rest of my site is the header/footer, everything in between will be very different.

    I’m trying to create a page template to do this, but wordpress seems to be generating my page template within the #content div, used to display content in the rest of the site. I don’t want this #content div (or the sidebar for that matter) to be on my static front page at all.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • the #content div is often started in the header.php template;
    however, without more information, it is difficult to comment on your problem:

    – link to your site?
    – code of your template? (please use the https://pastebin.com/)

    you might need to create a special header template (and footer template) to overcome your problem.
