• Hello forum, I am new to WordPress and I am trying to build my site. I was halfway through this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6EOuMDLj10 when I got stuck at minute 38:44 about creating a home page. Following this advice creates a new page titled “Home” with no additional qualities on it.

How do I create a homepage that literally takes you back to he domain name static URL instead of https://www.domainname.com/home? When I try to edit the URL to take off the “/home” part it won’t allow me to do that. I do have a comingsoon page plug-in so I am not sure if that makes a difference or not. But I prefer the domain name home page because of the way my theme is set up, the page is more eye appealing, plus I don’t want to build a new home page from scratch.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hey titaniumpiggybank !

First Go to Settings -> Reading and you will find an option to select a page for setting up as a homepage.

Once you select the page, you can set your created ‘home’ WordPress page as your Website homepage.
