Static Page wont display Previous Posts Pagination

Hello

I am currently using a static NEWS page to display post excerpts using the TPG_GET_POSTS plugin. This works fine, however I cannot navigate to the previous page of posts as the pagination links won’t display.

I have tried using PREVIOUS_POSTS_LINK() and POSTS_NAV_LINK() but nothing is displayed.
