    Hey All,

I’ve recently done a pingdom tools test and noticed a very low score for my site with regards to the static resource query’s. Looks like if I am able to truncate the cache for these resources I can get a very fast load time.

I’m not too familiar with how to do this so if anyone as any input I’d appreciate it.

    Thank you.

  • Hi

Are you using any cache tools right now? Like WP Cache? There is quite a bit of things you can do, like CDN for one. For our clients we have tweaked our servers with over 5 different ways to it only cache content but improve it as well.

If your not using any plugins I would try and properly configure WP Cache.

    Hello,

Yes, I’m currently using W3 Total Cache. I followed the installation instructions from this video to configure the Cache tool.

I’m currently running my site on GoDaddy so not sure if CDN is an option on shared hosting.

Do those settings seem reasonable? In the demonstration online they boast load times of under 2 seconds. I think my site can do the same if I can raise the pingdom score on the static resource from 51 to 90% plus.

The precise recommendation from Pingdom reads as follows:

Resources with a “?” in the URL are not cached by some proxy caching servers. Remove the query string and encode the parameters into the URL for the following resources:

Then it goes on to list the resources individually that need the adjustment made. Not sure how I could do that.

    Hi

Can I get the URL of your site. I’d like to run a few things and see. One thing though, Godaddy, not the greatest place if even close to good place to host a WordPress site. We have at minimum two customers that come from Godaddy to us for hosting a WordPress site since we specialize in doing so.

In any case, if I can get the URL and run few tests I maybe able to assist you bit further.

    Hi

One thing I would do is try and combine or even minify your JavaScript and CSS. There are many, also few images are missing they take time to be resolved. I would also try as much as possible to combine my images, that would also increase time. Now I don’t think that Godaddy allows ssh so all other php improvements are out of the question.

It’s not looking that bad but you always want to improve your performance and speed. I know that Godaddy’s database is a huge lag.

Try to use either W3 Total Cache minify options and see if that changes things for you.

    Hope that helps.

    Hey Kenton,

I’m already using W3 Total cache lol. Not sure why the JS are showing up with so many requests. I checked pingdom tools and that’s the lowest score we got. The site gave us the above message and gives us the specific links that need to be changed.

I used these settings for W3 total cache :

Not sure how to adjust it so that I’m getting better truncation. Any ideas?

    Hey,

Kenton is right you’re not actually minifying anything and your html is hardly minified.

I’d go through your settings for W3 Total Cache to configure it properly.

If you need some help still please PM me and I’d be happy to give you a hand.

    Best,

    Adam
