Statistics on Dashboard

Does this stats widget of ours only missing on your Dashboard page or is it also missing in your plugin settings page as well?

Is the plugin updated to the latest version? Does the same problem occur when you switch to another browser (e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Safari)? Lastly — when has this started to disappear?

Sorry for the whole bunch of these questions, but we’re really eager to help you out on this, since we cannot replicate this issue on our end.

The stats widget is on the Related Posts settings page, but not on the dashboard

The plugin is at the current version.

I have tested on Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome. All at current versions. All on a Windows 8 laptop.

The dashboard widget disappeared when updated to the current version

Also, on WordPress 3.9

Hey Travis, I finally figured it out!

The thing is, I thought we have already released the updated version of our plugin, which fixed this “Dashboard stats bug” that we have been dealing with for quite a while now, but I have figured it out just now that we haven’t.

Sorry for all the inconvenience we have caused you in the meantime, but I’m sorry to say that we are planning to remove that stats counter from the WP Dashboard completely, since it doesn’t offer our users any deep insight, especially since they’re mostly using the much advanced Google’s Analytics tool.

The next version will probably be released sometime this week.

But please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime or if there’s anything else that’s not completely clear, since I’ll gladly help you out!

Ok. Thanks for the reply. The main thing I like about the stats is that my clients can get a quick overview of how often their “related posts” are clicked, so they can consider manually selecting posts, rather than use the default posts that are selected.

Either way, I love the plugin… It has replaced YARPP on all of my builds.

But as mentioned in my previous post?— I’m afraid that those stats are slowly going away (not necessarily in the next update, but …).

I strongly encourage you to make a slow switch to the Google’s Analytics tool / plugin and make it customizable in a way that your clients will get more or less the same info as they did now.

Thanks. I already use Google Analytics for all of my clients, simply the stats widget was a quick way for them to see how well they’ve done in selecting “related posts.”
