    Hi,

I only look very seldom on the stats, but once a year I make a comparison to the years before and therefore check the stats from one year. This year I was wondering why one of the favourite ones did not show up in the statistics. Checking the hall of fame the article is listed and has 8x times more visits than the first listed in the statistics. As the article was written in 2019 it should have been on top1.

My conclusion: the long time stats seem to be ok, but the time range based are screwed up. I did clean the cache now as the numbers do not match my numbers from google. I do use WP Super Cache and Fast Velocity Minify but there was no problem so far and the Hall of fame seems not to have a problem.

Is there anything I can do to have proper numbers for 2019 (like rebuild cache) and from now on?

    Thank you.

    Br
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

(…) once a year I make a comparison to the years before and therefore check the stats from one year.

How exactly are you doing this?

Checking the hall of fame the article is listed and has 8x times more visits than the first listed in the statistics. As the article was written in 2019 it should have been on top1.

Why should it be the top 1? How long has WordPress Popular Posts been installed on your site exactly?

It seems to me that you’re confused on how the Hall of Fame section works: it lists the top popular posts sorted by total accumulated views count, it’s not a yearly thing. If that’s not it and you mean something else then please clarify.

    Hi Hector,

thank you for your reply and sorry for not being clear.

    1) How exactly…
I always check the time period for one year (on the stats view)

    2) Why should it be top1?
That’s quite easy. Yes, I know this is the OVERALL view, but this article I mentioned was written in 2019 only – so it should be top1 on the stats view as well. And it is not even shown.

Don’t mention it, and don’t worry about it.

If you can share some more info (like screenshots at the very least) I may be able to help out. Either that or some actual data so I can see by myself what’s going on. Otherwise we’re going to keep shooting in the dark here.

This is the article written in 2019:
    https://fosm.de/feis-ile-2019-programme-online/

In hall of fame it is like this:

Feis Ile 2019 - Programme Online
    3.075 views

In the most seen (first tab) it was not shown at all, but the first shown did have loads less views. As I emptied the cache there is nothing shown for the old period anymore. (is there a way to rebuild this?)

The WP list of posts shows 3813 views for this post.

If you didn’t backup your data before confirming its deletion then unfortunately there’s nothing to be done about it. That data is gone for good.

This is probably the reason why you’re seeing these data inconsistencies but -once again- without more details/seeing some actual data I can’t fully confirm anything (and if you indeed didn’t back up your data first then we may never know.)
