We have two WordPress websites (self hosted). JetPack/Stats has worked perfectly on the first website.

Performed a new/separate WordPress install (www.LakePath.com), creating new www.ads-software.com AND WordPress.com accounts. Linked JetPack to new WordPress.com account.

Just getting off the ground on the new website but in JetPack, I’m noticing “#1400703045 (loading title)” messages in place of only some URL’s. I checked the new account at WordPress.COM and I see the same error there.

Does anyone have any insight to correct this before we start getting millions of hits ??

Update: I think I know what’s going on but wanted to post it here for others. We have Real Estate Listing “IDX” Plugin that inserts active listings directly into our page. 99% sure that those “loading title” messages are when the user clicks on a listing!

One idea, if you’re running Jetpack 3.0.1, visit the Jetpack Debugging Center. You can access this via the Jetpack page, clicking the Help menu in the upper-right, then clicking on Jetpack Debugging Center.

On that page, at the bottom, is an option to reindex your sites. Could you click that and let me know when you’ve done so?

    Cheers!

Hi Brandon, thanks for the idea. I reindexed Tuesday May 27th 9:00am EST. Looks like we’re getting the same result.

Thinking out loud here: those “dynamic” pages don’t really exist on our site (ex: each time a user clicks a listing, the page gets generated). So, WordPress.com Stats don’t really have a page to refer to (in turn JetPack Stats have nothing to refer to) ?

It may be worth noting that StatCounter “does” track the dynamic pages and I’m able to see the full URL.

    You’re exactly right.

The WP.com Stats work by a bit of code added to each page—including these dynamic ones—by sending just a tiny bit of info…the post (or page)’s ID number.

These dynamic pages have an ID number, which is what you’re seeing in the stats panel.

Typically, we sync up your page titles and the URL associated with the page when you publish a new page. Since these pages don’t really exist, there’s nothing syncing up to us, so the Loading text remains.

There isn’t a way to fix the title issue with the way our stats are built with the way that plugin works. The closest thing would be to remove the stats tracking code from those pages, but you would lose that data that someone did click on an IDX listing.

Thank you very much for an informative summary. I appreciate your work!
