• After the most recent WordPress update, Blubrry Podcast Statistics in the WP dashboard show the following error:

“No configuration file for domain blubrry.com:443 found.”

Prior to the update, this was not an issue.

Is there something that needs to be update on my end, or is there a new version of the plugin on the way to fix this issue?

    Thanks!

    Hello fluxay,

No one else has reported this error (please reply to this thread if this is happening to you too). This is a new error for me. I’m doing some research to see where the error may be originating.

In the mean time, can you tell me a little bit about your website in case i need to duplicate the environment? Who is your hosting provider and which plugins do you currently have activated?

The only other thing I can think of is that it occurred during the WordPress update. As part of the update, WordPress had to rebuild the database, perhaps that is where the issue took place?

My website is https://fluxtaposed.com. My podcast feeds are pushed out through it.

    I self-host through digital ocean.

    Okay great!

With a quick glance, none of those plugins have issues that I know of. You shouldn’t have any issues with digital ocean either. Some smaller hosting companies have been setting up local firewalls which may explain the error but you would know about such a firewall if you’re using Digital Ocean.

I grepped through the latest version of WordPress for “No configuration file for domain” and I did not find such an error. I think this may be a platform or operating system error.

The stats page refreshes every 12-24 hours. Lets see if the problem clears itself in the next 24 hours.

Well, it looks like over the weekend, the issue persists. Stats are still being tracked and are view-able on the main blubrry site, but still having the same issue on the WordPress Dashboard.

    fluxay,

Just to give you an update, I am working on rewriting the code that handles these API calls. Hopefully this next version will fix the issue, if it does not it will at least provide us better error reporting than what we rely on now.

    Thanks,
    Angelo

Hey, just wanted to include myself in the issue, I am also getting the same error message.

I’ll try to debug on this side and report back if I find anything

    Thanks,
    Max

    I’m with this issue too.

    Hey everyone,

This has been pretty difficult to diagnose. It is definitely an issue with the latest versions of WordPress 4.6+. It appears in some instances (not all) either the cURL or fsockopen logic adds :443 to the host name for the headers sent to the server. Our API servers then thinks the host name was being spoofed. The port under normal circumstances is to tell the actual connecting application to use that port, it is not intended to be in the “Hosts: ” header since it is the default port for https protocol. I am in the process of posting tickets to trac about the bugs.

In the mean time, we made a change on our API servers to accept the port included with the host: parameter. Please let me know if you are still having a problem.

It’s woking great now. Thanks. =)

    Awesome!

I’ve submitted patches to WordPress to resolve the issues in core as well. https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/37991 and https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/37992
