stats not recording the last two days

I was told there was a fix applyed, because myself and allot of others couldnt get it to work, as of this evening my hosting “Freshly Pressed” said its fixed. And its working for me.

I have sent an email to the creator of the program asking for help. I still dont have stats, I am waiting for his reply

So uh… which stats plugin are we discussing?

I was referring to the one Andy Skelton wrote, that I believe is the one thats on Wp.com that they use

Yes it is Andy Skelton’s stats. I got a response from him….but all he said was ” what is your url” so I have not heard back anything from him since that email a day ago. Is his stats having problems? I still dont have stats today. Is there some ‘ fix’ for this problem? Is it easy to do?

well I guess no one knows how to fix these stats and I never heard back from Andy how to fix them. So I need to delete them and add another program in its place.

Can anyone suggest another stat program that does what his does?

I do not know what was done, Podz/Mark “Support Maven” who is associated also with Freshly Pressed where I am hosted at said that the author fixed something or did something and all I know is it works now.

You MUST have a wordpress.com blog in order to use Andy’s plugin just in case u didnt know.

Thats all the information I have.

Hi , I went to the Firestats page and read all the material. Its more complicated than the one I downloaded to get started. IT reguires some data base configurations or something. The other one all I did was upload the files to my folder and activated it. It worked the first two days then QUIT and DIED for no reason.

I need a stats program that is easy to install like Andy’s on my wordpress blog as this is the first blog I have ever done.

Is there any other stats program where you just upload the folders and activate it and it works? collects the number of people who visit and what they click on etc…

Thank you for this link. I went to that same site and was reading various topics and it said this:

“When I try to configure the database, I get the error Cannot write configuration file (read only file or directory) ?
FireStats database configuration tab need write access to the file fs-config.php under the php directory.
Please make sure that the apache user have write access to that file at when you are configuring the file.
a quick fix for the those with low unix-fu:
cd firestats/php (Change to the php directory)
touch fs-config.php (Makes sure the config file exists)
chmod o+w fs-config.php (Make sure everyone can write to the file)
Configure database in FireStats database tab.
chmod o-w fs-config.php (Make sure everyone can’t write to the file)

The things I was reading sounded more complicated than what I wanted to tackle by myself so I just decided to not try t. I will try these stats now then. I appreciate your response.

Wrong. All you need is an API key.

I installed the firestats earlier today. However it is not showing any stats for the whole day. Also there is this ‘ database’ configuration section I have no idea what to do with that ….

I appear to be having a problem with the WP.com stats plugin too; i know ive had visitors cause ive had comments, but the stats page isn’t showing any visits at all.

Also google analytics shows visits.

any ideas?
