The use of cookies as alternative was discussed in https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/voting-with-cookies/

What is the status? this summer we will start another contest and we will have again the problem: few IPs within out company, but registration scares people away and Facebook is not common among our users.
Cookies would be perfect because only very few people are experienced enough to know about them (and we don’t care about double voting home+work).

    Thanks!

  • Hi Nerofe!

In the moment 5 star rating manipulation is next. Then adding categories in a gallery and allow to sort by categories, what is very big issue. So cookies are not next in line. What about to use proxy for your company, like zenmate for example? Or to allow only registered users to vote? <<< thats the most secure method, can’t be manipulated.

    Thanks forum the update!
In out case manipulation is not an issue, easy of use comes first.

No problem if you cannot do it now, but it’s good that I know ??
