Hi @shss,
Thanks for your review.
We are sorry to hear you’re having problems with Yoast SEO. We see that you opened a topic in the free forum here.
Our support team explained that when you enable the “Remove the categories prefix” feature under SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies, it’s expected that the /category/ prefix is removed from your category permalinks. If, for example, you have a category under /category/spin-bike-reviews/
and enable the feature, the category will then be available under /spin-bike-reviews/
and the plugin will create a redirect from /category/spin-bike-reviews/
to /spin-bike-reviews/
. This is how the feature works which is in line with what you described in the forum.
That being said, reading the forum thread again, we suspect you may be experiencing a different issue where our plugin detects a change in your permalinks and therefore suggests you re-run the SEO data optimization. If you didn’t change your permalinks structure and you’re getting an incorrect notification, we’d appreciate it if you could create a new topic in the forum so that our support team can look further into the issue.
Thanks!
