I have been working on my site off-line and ready to upload – done this several times before without problem. Today, I get to Step 2, Test database all good, click Next and nothing happens aside from button highlight.

    I have tried the following:

1st several goes the usual way “Connect and remove all data”.
Next I deleted everything out of public_html tried again.
Then I tried manually extracting via cPanel, set manual extraction option at step 1: no joy.
Then I emptied my data base, via myPHP and used “Create new database”

In every case I get to step 2 have a successful database test, but the “Next” button does nothing.

Of course, by this time I have no original database, and thus no website ??

Any help would be much appreciated – happy Thanksgiving (I think).

    Some more information …
My local machine is a Mac. I use MAMP to provide the development environment.
I switch off SG Optimizer before packaging up the live site, and leave it switched off while working on the local version. That plug-in handles https, and PHP version – I don’t actually use the caching capability as I only have the basic subscription with Siteground.
I noticed that packaging the local site took longer than usual, maybe 7 – 10 minutes vs. the typical 3 – 5 minutes. Could there be issues in creating the package, that may then make it impossible to install in the live environment?
If I can think of anything else, I will add it.

    Hey @blueeventhorizon,

You might check the installer-log.txt file for clues. If you see something that doesn’t look right just submit a ticket here and we can more closely inspect the log file.

Yeah I did that but there is nothing out of the ordinary – the extraction step completes (and I can confirm that by the file time-stamps), then the file just stops. I have x’d out parts of file names and my username:

I tried to post a sanitized version of the log file, but it is being held up in moderation.
    The log file begins:

The only thing odd is PHP 5.6.32 rather than 7, maybe?

The log file last line is:

I saw your ticket well, let’s just finish up the conversation there to prevent posting twice.

    Thanks

    Hi Cory,

Is it possible these problems arose with your latest release. Duplicator has worked perfectly numerous times in the past. And my problems began on 23rd Nov.

Could you review some of the 8 messages I have left for you on my ticket – my new website still will not deploy into the live environment, it freezes at step 2.

My latest attempt was to deploy it to a subdomain of my site, create a package there and then try to install the new package into the live directory. Same problem.

Funnily enough I got the same problem as Lisakaroline above – when I testeed my live site to verify it was still functioning I got a redirect to my dev site. Had to do a restore of my live site.

    Any thoughts?

Thanks for being patient, we can’t always get to all these tickets quickly, in some cases it can take a while (sometimes a few days) to respond since your not the only person in the queue. Your question has been answered at the other location…

Thanks for getting back to me, Cory. I understand I am not a premium customer!

I don’t know why I couldn’t get D to work – it has always worked perfectly before.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully, in the future, we can make it easier for you to get around the issues you had…
