This looks like it might do exactly what I need it to do.

Trying to figure it out is hit and miss. Are there any step by step instructions on how to set this up to allow people to subscribe to only a single category?

The idea is that it will have its own page.

    Thanks!

    Hi @lazyym,

Yes, if you want to restrict to only 1 category then it is better to create a single page for it.

Thats exactly what I want to do. Group setup is confusing to me for some reason. Where can I find “tell it to me like I’m five” instructions? I have categories setup for years. I need a form page that visitors can subscribe to only one category on that specific page. I don’t want to use a widget. Can I incorporate it into a page? Are there clear instructions somewhere? Thanks!

This still isn’t working correctly. Even after setting up and having your rep check it in admin, it still sends notifications for all posts, not just the single category.

I checked it and replied with the same thing I’ll describe here. It still doesn’t work for a single category subscription. What doesn’t make sense is you create a group with advanced forms, then simply type in a name for the form rather than tying it to the form without a category slug or a dropdown to select a category for the form. Now that single email address I’ve subscribed to that single category gets no subscription emails at all. There is a disconnect between your advanced form setup and a single category/group.

    Hello Icegram,

Thank you a lot for your very helpful (and free) WP plugins!

About “Email Subscribers – Group Selector”, I also think that Groups and Categories must be combined, to allow users to subcribe only for one or some categories.

    It is an indispensable feature.

Hoping you could add that feature on the next release.

    Thanks again and Regards.

    Hi @att,

We have noted down feature and we’ll consider adding support for it.
