  • If you’ve used the plugin for a while, and you’ve upgraded to version 2.0, then Legacy Mode is probably turned on.

In version 2.0, a new/better method of stickiness was introduced. However, for those who want to keep using the old method (“if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”), the Legacy Mode is available. Any upgrades of the plugin will have Legacy Mode automatically enabled.

So, if that’s the case, try disabling Legacy Mode in the plugin’s settings and then see if Ninja Popups work, and please let me know.

If it still doesn’t work, then is there a way I can see the site so I can diagnose the issue?

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. We are using version 1.3.1. I went into settings and did not see anything titled Legacy Mode…Is that because we have an old version? There is something called Dynamic Mode — is that the same thing?

We have been updating our website, and are hoping to get the updated version live today. What would you need in order to see the site to better diagnose the issue?

    Thanks for your help!

Sorry for the confusion! Yes, Legacy Mode is only in version 2.0.

If you use Legacy Mode in 2.0, it’s the same as what you’re using in 1.3.1 (the “old” method).

The new method is only available in 2.0, which was released yesterday, so I would suggest to update the plugin to 2.0, then turn Legacy Mode OFF, and then see if that works.

Please let me know if that helps.

Hey Mark. I downloaded version 2.0 and tried to make the two plugins compatible with Legacy Mode turned both off and on. Neither seems to make a difference. Any other suggestions?

Is there any way you can show me what you have so far? If you can share a link so I can diagnose what the problem is exactly, that would be very helpful. Please make sure you have Legacy Mode turned off, and Debug Mode turned ON.

(Unfortunately, I’m not able to replicate this situation on my own system since I don’t have a license for Ninja Popups.)

Hey Mark. I can give you a temporary access code to our wordpress so that you can see the back end if that would help.

I’d rather not log in to the back end of the site (I don’t want to break anything by accident), and I don’t really need backend access.

But, if you can send me the URL to marksenff [at] Gmail, I’d be happy to check out the site itself to see what might be wrong.
