  • Hi, thanks for trying my plugin.

It might not be an issue with the Page Scroll to ID plugin itself, but rather the way the submenu works, so it would depend on the theme or the menu plugin (if there is any). My plugin is not compatible with every theme/plugin out there, unfortunately.

Can you share a link to your site so I can see the issue?

I’d love to send you a link. But the site is not launched yet… is there a way to send you a login in a private message?

Anyway here is s screenshot of the issue. This is an example what happens if i click on a submenu-item. The page scrolls to that position, but the submenu stays open.

    Thanks.

What theme are you using for this? And/or what plugin is being used for the menu?

i use woocommerce with storefront theme
menu is your sticky plugin with the “page scoll to ID” plugin.

I believe I’ve seen this issue before with the Storefront theme. The way the submenu works, is not fully compatible with my plugin unfortunately.

You can send me a login using email (marksenff at gmail) so I can confirm and maybe have a fix, but please make sure the login is only for viewing the site. Do NOT give me any WordPress admin or editor rights, I only need to see the site.

I can’t guarantee I will have a solution for this, but maybe I can just see if there is a way to fix this, although I expect this is a common incompatibility issue.

I imagined this is because instead of loading a new page on clicking a menu-item, it will only scroll, so nothing is refreshing.. but that is just a guess. I am not a web-wizard. ??

Thanks a lot for the help. login will be in your email shortly.

I took a look at your site and I see you’re using a different plugin to make the menu sticky, so I can’t directly help you with this.

However, regardless of the plugin, you’re right — since nothing is really refreshing, the menu stays open.

This is actually expected behavior. The submenu is supposed to be visible as long as the mouse is on it, or as long as any of the items in the submenu has the focus. Since a click on it makes it “active” and gives it focus, the submenu will remain visible until you put the focus somewhere else.

I’m not sure what gives the submenu the class “focus” (the theme or the Scroll to ID plugin, though I believe it’s the former), but it’s not something that’s directly caused by the Sticky Menu plugin I’m afraid.

I’d suggest to check with the theme authors, perhaps they have a good solution for it.

    Thanks Mark!
How silly of me. I was sure i used your plugin.
    Thanks for helping.
