Sticky Post Background is Default Color

We’re currently using the F8 theme for our blog. We’ve stickied a post but since we changed the default color to something more appealing to the eyes, the stickied post is still the default color (white). This is what it looks like this:

When you actually click the stickied post and go to the actual page, the color is fine. It’s only on the home page that this problem occurs. We have tried making the background color the same through html but it hasn’t worked so far.
