When using Untitled on wordpress.com the featured image of the sticky post would become the home page header. This gives the home page more of a graphical presence: see https://phillycalledup.com. However, the theme from www.ads-software.com does not look to support this feature when installed on our instance. Is this an oversight or a deliberate difference? Either way, I really liked this behavior on wordpress.com.

  • The same theme is often not identical on .COM and .ORG.

    Howdy!

The WordPress.com version of this theme uses Featured Content, found under Settings -> Reading, where you can assign specific posts to a Tag so they’ll appear in the slider. It does not use Sticky posts for the slider.

You can achieve the same effect on your self-hosted site using Jetpack, which includes the Featured Content plugin we use on WordPress.com: https://jetpack.me

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Caroline,

Could you please give some details on how to achieve this behavior using JetPack? I have exactly the same question. I must say it is a bit misleading when you download the theme for self-hosted site and see feature-content, but this, apparently, does not work. A short tutorial on how to correct it would be very helpful.

    Regards,
    Denis.

@denis, it would be best to voice that in your own thread, otherwise you are only visible to those who happen to be looking in this particular thread.
