• Having a sticky post image size issue with the Twenty Fourteen template. Need some guidance on where to make this edit. The featured image on my Sticky post is 1240 x 520, which should be large enough, but I am still seeing the image get resized smaller with gray area around it.

Which file – specifically – should the edit be made in? I have not used child themes, and prefer to do it without going in that direction if possible, unless it is rather painless.

  • Hi

Did you regenerate the featured images?

Tried Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, but that doesn’t seem to have worked. Back when I used Arras there was a built-in control for this, but can’t seem to find any other way to do it in 2014. I think this will require more coding.

The ideal size of featured image in Twenty Fourteen is 1038px wide , 576px height as default. Your image width is big enough but the height is a bit too short at the moment.

Thanks Takashi, it looks like that worked. However I had one other slip that I figured out on my own. My original issue was with the Grid view, and I only had one post tagged as featured, so I was seeing some grayed out space there.

I think I’m good to go now. Really like this new theme. It does just about everything Arras did, and it’s right out of the box and looks way better overall, especially on mobile. Pondering converting my music site to this theme as well.
